On May 17, NTU organized the launching ceremony for the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA) Taiwanese Students Study Tour in Israel & NTU Overseas Internship Program. The ceremony was jointly hosted by NTU President Wen-Chang Chen (陳文章) and JTCA Founders Jeffrey D. Schwartz & Na Tang (坣娜) and joined by our partner organizations and sponsors, witnessing the significant milestone in the lives of over 60 students who will be embarking on internships in Israel and other countries this summer.
The NTU Overseas Internship Program (OIP) is the first university-level overseas internship program in Taiwan. During summer vacation this year, more than 30 selected students will undertake overseas internships under the guidance of mentors at 10 enterprises, NGOs, and research institutions, including IBM Research, Kew Gardens and Step30, as well as top universities in the United States such as Caltech, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Chicago laboratories.
President Chen stated, “Through participating in the Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association (JTCA) Taiwanese Students Study Tour in Israel, NTU students will have the opportunity to visit renowned Israeli companies and institutions, gaining a deep understanding of Jewish culture. Through the NTU Overseas Internship Program, students will have the chance to experience overseas workplace culture and broaden their international perspectives under the guidance of mentors from collaborating companies. They may also engage in service-oriented projects to cultivate problem-solving skills and altruistic spirits. This launching ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting journey for our students as they embark on their international exploration and future careers.”
